About Us

The Floersch Family has been in the grocery business since 1965 when Ray Floersch purchased a one-aisle IGA store in Seneca, Kansas and put his family to work stocking shelves, sorting pop bottles and learning the business. A new store was soon built and the importance of friendly customer service was instilled as a condition for employment. Forty years later, Ray’s son, Mike Floersch, owner and operator of Ray’s Apple Markets, has proven that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

Mike and Nelda Floersch purchased their very own grocery store, Clay Center IGA, in 1980. Through the evolution of buying, selling, expansions, remodels and warehouse and name change, their Ray’s Apple Market company today includes 6 stores with locations in Beloit, Clay Center, Seneca, Council Grove, Saint Marys, Kansas and one store in Fairbury, Nebraska. “We’ve grown our business on exceptional customer service and appreciation, product variety, quality and value and extensive community involvement along with the knowledge you gain from living and working your own stores.”

Each store provides a full line of grocery products, both national brand and store brands “ Always Save and Best Choice ”, supplied through Associated Wholesale Grocers – Kansas City. You will find fresh produce, daily cut meats, cold dairy products, doors and doors of frozen foods, the smell of just baked breads and rolls, an outstanding deli selection from homemade “Rock House Salads”, to our famous Chester Chicken and Hickory Pit BBQ . Friendly check-out with the latest technology and free carry out!
